Day 1 BATHURST TO MITTAGONG Monday 15 September 2025
Welcome to our 3-day spring tour to the Southern Highlands and the Floriade Festival in Canberra. Sit back and meet your fellow travellers as we make our way to Berrima for lunch at the Surveyor General Inn. After lunch, we continue our journey offering picturesque views of the Southern Highlands. We arrive in Bowral for a unique visit to Fairground Follies. Enchanted by the sights and sounds of Fairground Follies, akin to visiting an old-fashioned amusement park, here we’ll find a collection of self-playing instruments and mechanical music, fair orans, street organs and a 100 year old steam carousel. A fun way to start our tour. We make our way to our accommodation for the evening having time to freshen up before dinner.

During Tulip Time, over 80,000 tulips and 15,000 annuals transform Corbett Gardens and other parks across the shire into stunning displays of sweeping colour. We spend the morning here enjoying the festival with all its stunning colour and entertainment before making our way to the Red Cow Farm, a lovely garden set on 6 acres of picturesque gardens. The garden is divided into different garden areas or ‘rooms’, with new vistas and surprises around every corner. Red Cow Farm is a dream for anyone with a green thumb. The flower display is the largest of its type in the southern hemisphere. There are some 150,000 annuals, 65,000 tulips, 20,000 daffodils, 9,000 each of hyacinths and ranunculus and 200,000 muscari – an abundance of bloom and colour!
